Apparently, even going gold cannot protect a game from the calendar being launched into the bin.
Ubisoft has delayed Rayman Legends: Retold from 1 October to 3 December, announcing that the team wants additional time to polish the game.
The eyebrow-raising part? Ubisoft says it has already gone gold.
More time, but no specific explanation
The development team says it wants to give every detail the attention it deserves. Its announcement does not identify particular faults or explain exactly what will change during the extra development time.
Players will get another look sooner: a Game Overview trailer arrives on 22 September, alongside fresh hands-on impressions from selected press and creators.
What is coming?
Retold is scheduled for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Its additions include a new realm, four new musical stages and an expanded soundtrack, alongside up to four-player couch co-op.
Extra polish could prove worthwhile. For now, Rayman’s most impressive platforming move is jumping clean over his original release date.
